  • NPO organized APO Training Program on Training of Trainers in Green Productivity

    National Productivity Organization (NPO), Ministry of Industries & Production organized APO Training Program on Training of Trainers in Green Productivity from 9th – 13th July, 2018, Islamabad. This program has provided a unique opportunity to the participants to become APO certified Green Productivity (GP) specialist after fulfilling certain APO requirements within six months. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Jamshed Khattak, General Manager NPO. Participants from 30 different organizations attended the program. Mr. Alex Yap Fung from Malaysia was the resource speaker conducted of this program.

    The objective of this Training was to enrich senior trainers with modern concepts and methodology of Green Productivity. The program addressed challenges that arise in consulting problems. Contents of the session highlighted the ways businesses steer towards achieving a competitive advantage by doing better with less resources without effecting environment. The resource speaker highlighted uses of management tools, techniques and technologies to encourage innovation for a continuous cycle for productivity gains. The major topics covered during this program include lean approach, Muda identification cycle, Green Process management system, Eco-Mapping & benchmarking.

    Mr. Aftab Khan Masood, Head GPC NPO in his closing remarks emphasized the importance of green productivity for improvement of industrial sector and environmental protection. He appreciates the active participation of participants and praised the resource speaker for sharing  his knowledge with the participants.

    Since the central element of the GP methodology is the examination and re-evaluation of production processes and products, the program scheduled a field trip to Bestway Cement Company. Participants along with Bestway cement management collectively analyzed the processes and gave recommendations for improvements.

    In the end Mr. Alex Yap Fung thanked participants for attending the program with keen interest in the program. He also appreciated NPO management for conducting the event in a very organized manner.
