Islamabad, April 10, 2013 : Former Federal Minister for Industries, Mr. Shahzada Ahsan Ashraf Sheikh visited the NPO head office. A comprehensive presentation about the company, ongoing activities, projects, progress and future plans was given by the Former CEO NPO, Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Yousuf to the Minister.

The agenda of the meeting was to reflect future plans of NPO by seeking continuous support from Ministry in regard to annual grants, pending approvals for posts, approval of Prime Minister Quality Awards (PMQA) and defining smooth process in acquiring funds.

Former CEO NPO, Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Yousuf also suggested that NPO through the mediation with Ministry of Commerce can improve Pakistan’s ranking in World Competitiveness Index. He expressed that major partnerships and strategic alliances with institutions like International Finance Corporation (IFC), PUM (Netherland) and World Economic Forum (WEF) echos that NPO under his leadership has not developed its scope beyond APO member countries.

Former Federal Minister for Industries, Mr. Shahzada Ahsan Ashraf Sheikh appreciated that NPO’s role is unique and important for Pakistan’s economy and will ensure support in projects that have positive impact. He added that challenges do exist, however, with collective and well planned initiatives things can bee steered towards betterment.
