The session was organized with the objective to improve productivity awareness of women entrepreneurs and active engagement in SMEs Fund initiated by NPO Pakistan through support of Asian Productivity Organization (APO).

Honorable Federal Minister for Industries & Production Makhdum Khusro Bukhtiar was the Chief Guest on the occasion. During his address, he stressed on productivity enhancement and competitiveness of SMEs in the local and global market to achieve sustainable development in Pakistan. The Federal Minister highlighted the Government’s efforts to support industrial development through a set of policies and tax benefits to industries and specifically women entrepreneurs. He also shared that the government will introduce specialized credits for firms with provisions for majority of women. He appreciated NPO Pakistan to organize the session for woman entrepreneurs and hoped that this will help strengthen the role of woman in business and industry.

The objective of thetraining was to equip participants with techniques and tools of lean manufacturing which can be effectively adopted by SMEs to become more competitive. The program developed competent lean trainers who will be able to guide SMEs in improving their organizational performance through effective, innovative lean manufacturing methods leveraging practical approaches and supplementary smart technologies.     read more

The National productivity Organization (NPO) participated in "Multan Trade Carnival 2017" from 22 - 25 December, 2017. The Carnival was organized by  Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry(MCCI) in collaboration with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan(TDAP). Multan Trade Carnival 2017 was a successful event and more than hundred stalls were installed for entrepreneurs from different areas of Pakistan. NPO has also setup a stall at the carnival to introduce its services to the business community. Many national brands also participated and exhibited their products. NPO, SMEDA, AHAN, Women Chamber of Commerce Multan and State Bank were core participants of the event. NPO provided its full support to MCCI & TDAP by engaging its team from Multan Office for execution of the event. ISLAMABAD - National Productivity Organization (NPO) would soon introduce a certification on Organic Farming under its agriculture reforms programmes, enabling the farmers community to grow a diverse range of nutritious organic food.
The project aimed to educate families about organic crops and alternative farming techniques. The organization also plans to take up new initiatives in tunnel farming, Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NPO, Dr. Sher Muhammad said.
In an exclusive talk with APP here on Sunday, Sher Muhammad, who recently assumed the charge, said the NPO through its post harvest peach project trained about 3300 farmers regarding harvesting, grading, packing and marketing to eliminate the middleman to enhance competitiveness.     read more

ISLAMABAD: The National Productivity Organisation (NPO) of the Ministry of Industries & Production is to hold a five-day international seminar on Monday in Islamabad to discuss issues related to the agriculture sector, said sources.
The seminar will gather experts from 20 countries and some of these issues discussed will be related to irrigation sector and food security.
